The Imperial Japanese Army uses its ability to be invisible, to pass through solid objects, and its fanatical devotion to its cause to carry out coordinated melee attacks, then disappear as quickly as they appeared.

The core of the starter army is an Assault Platoon. The platoon is led by a platoon commander armed with a light machine gun and equipped with heavy combat armor (exclusive sculpture for this set). The platoon is supported by armored infantry in Assault Suits and a Ghost Soldier squad, who, with the help of a Rift die, can redeploy anywhere on the battlefield to engage an unexpected target with their Shiboru rifles.

A light Sasori walker provides support in the main line of an Armored Platoon, reinforced by a Chi-Ha tank that has been given its own Shiboru cannon. The combination of crushing weapons in both platoons gives any opponent at the table reason for concern.
