The world of Gundam has fascinated fans worldwide since the first Mobile Suit Gundam series aired in 1979. Over time, Gundam models, also known as Gunpla, have evolved significantly in both complexity and variety. Let's delve into how Gundam model kits have changed and improved over the years.
The early years of Gunpla
In the early 1980s, Gunpla was something entirely new. The first models had rather basic forms and required the builder to use glue and paint to make them look realistic. These early models set the standard and provided fans with a creative platform to express their love for the Gundam universe.
Technology and quality improve
With advancing technology, the models began to become more detailed and easier to assemble. For example, with the introduction of the High Grade (HG) series in the early 1990s, builders no longer needed to use glue as the parts were designed to snap together. The colors also became more vibrant and detailed, creating a more natural look.
