Gunpla, or Gundam Plastic Models, is a fascinating world for all enthusiasts of model building and mecha culture. Since the debut of the Mobile Suit Gundam series in 1979, these models have evolved from 2D pixels to become sophisticated kits that adorn model builders' workbenches worldwide. Let's take a look at Gunpla's journey through time, and why these models continue to captivate both old and new fans.
Origin and Evolution
It was in the early 1980s that Bandai released the first Gunpla models. These early versions were far from the intricate kits we see today, but they laid the groundwork for something big. Over time, Gunpla has evolved thanks to technological improvements, leading to more detailed and poseable models.

Gunpla's Popular Culture
A large part of Gunpla's popularity can be attributed to their deep roots in Japanese anime and manga. The Mobile Suit Gundam series helped pioneer the mecha genre, which in turn led to a growing interest in building and owning their own models. This interest has also led to a range of other products inspired by anime and manga, such as No Face Plush Notebook - Spirited Away, a perfect gift for fans of the iconic film Spirited Away.
